In 1947, Harry Retter first opened his electric motor shop in Oklahoma City. Along with his two older brothers, Francis and “Junior”, Louis Retter grew up around the electric motor business. In 1969, the motor shop moved from its location where Cox Convention Center now stands to its current location on Linwood Boulevard and became All State Electric Motors.
Nearly 65 years after he first picked up bearing and other parts by bicycle, Louis has been joined in the business by his Granddaughter, Alexy, and her husband, Jacob. Together Louis, Alexy, and Jacob work hard to continue growing the family business that Harry started and built - by providing exceptional service, knowing their customers, and treating everyone like a friend.
I walked into my house at 3:30 on a Monday. For some reason I went home a little early. When I walked in the door I noticed the AC was off. I looked at the Unit and removed the capacitor to replace. I had it tested and found that it was good. I removed the electric fan from the unit and ran as fast as could to Louis at ALL STATE ELECTRIC Motors. It was 4:55 and he checked my motor and fixed me up with a new one staying for nearly an hour after business hours to help me. I will never go any place else again for my capacitors or motors. Great service and a great attitude.
Opened my pool and it looked like a swamp and the pump motor wouldn't run. Took it in to them in the morning and they had me up and running by that same evening. Good group to deal with. Very professional and courteous
Hot day. After 12 noon on Saturday. A/C breaks. I called all over the metro to find the capacitor I needed. Everywhere was either closed or didn't have the one I needed. No Heat and Air Company would sell me one. I was about to resign my family to sweltering through the weekend until in my last breath we found All State Electric Motors and called them. Louis was about to close up shop for the day but said he'd wait for me to get there. Now that's service!!! Thank you, Louis! It was an unforgettable day. All State Electric Motors saved us, and they're my new go-to place.
